Your Fitness Checklist for a great New Year!

New Year’s Eve has always been a time for reflecting on the potential of a new year. And with getting fit being one of the top five New Year’s resolutions, we thought we’d help with an inspiring checklist to ensure a healthy 2012!

Set a new goal
Whether you want to improve flexibility, increase strength or lose those extra pounds (no doubt gained during the holiday season), nothing helps drive motivation like a new goal. Just make sure to balance a challenging objective with attainability!

Review your workout schedule
We all know the demands of juggling – work, a family, household chores, etc. So whether you’ve dedicated Saturday mornings or Wednesday evenings (or both!) to keeping fit, reviewing your workout schedule will help to ensure that it doesn’t conflict with your other commitments and obligations.

Start working out with a fitness buddy
Having trouble staying committed to your workout classes? Sign-up with a friend! You may find it easy to skip a class here and there when you only have yourself to answer to but working out with a fitness buddy helps keep you accountable and motivated!

Treat yourself to a new fitness outfit
You know the rule: want to get inspired? Go shopping! There’s just something about new clothes that sparks us into action a new gym outfit is sure to renew that old sense of excitement!
